Kommentar:

The Tagesprogramm daily almamac of Prague social events that was published by Bohemia 15/7/1863 announced: ‘9.30am and 2.45pm in the Žofín Island Hall: Musical production of pupils of Stara’s [Stára] Music Institute.’

A brief, unsigned review of these examinations was published by Prager Morgenpost 23/7/1863. The correspondent reported: ‘The Examination productions of pupils of Stara’s [Stára] Music Institute, which we had the opportunity to attend, provided pleasing evidence of the proficient [teaching] methods of this Institute. Individual pupils demonstrated their ability to handle their instrument, the piano, and to satisfy high standard of performance. Of the pupils who demonstrated particularly skilful playing, the instrument with delicate touch and great precision in their solo performances as well as in ensemble [playing]... we note: Misses Marie Otschinek, Caroline Sewera, Marie Frank, Marie Chevallier and Caroline Schwarz, and the gentlemen: Carl Čížek and V. Vacek.’
