An advertisement for this event, which marked the opening of this new Prague public venue, was published by Prager Morgenpost 4/7/1863. The source announced: ‘Opening of the Bodenbacher Beer Hall, Old Town, Postgasse Nr.299 in Schücker’s House adjacent to the Kreuzcapelle. There, in the elegantly arranged Garden, the said beer hall will be opened today with a Garden Concert given by the regimental ensemble of the worthy Royal Infantry Regiment King Wilhelm I of Prussia under the personal direction of the Kapellmeister Mr Lewengly, and for a first-rate Double- [Doppel-] Lager-Beer, as well as particularly tastefully prepared breakfasts, lunches and evening meals. Admission to this event was charged at 10kr.’
