The supplement 14 of Lumír 1854 reported on 22/4/1854 that on ‘23rd at early evening will be on Žofín a great musical festival for the marriage of His Majesty the Emperor, in which the musical ensemble of the Royal Infantry Regiment Wasa and a chorus of singers from the theatre [Estates Theatre] will be participating. On this occasion we will her the Czech festival hymn of J.J. Kolár with music by J.N. Škroup. The illumination of the island will be enhanced by the sunshine apparatus [bude zvýšeno slunečním aparátem] of Mr Romuald Božek.’ No further details of this event were given by the source.

Bohemia 8/4/1854 reported news that on Sunday 23rd April for celebration of the Marriage of Their Royal Apostolic Majesties a great Celebratory Festival (Jubelfest) would take place on the Sophien-Insel [Žofín Island], at which the island will be festively decorated and several musical ensembles will participate. Mr Kapellmeister Swoboda has composed for this occasion a Jubel-Ouverture [Festival Overture] and an Einzugs-Marsch [Entrance March].’
