Following the first performance of this work in Prague, on 25/7/1857, the German-language Prague newspaper Tagesbote aus Böhmen 31/7/1857 reported that ‘J. Veith’s great D major Mass, that on 25th July was performed in the Church of St James, will be published by the Vienna firm of J. Spina.’
