Hilmar, František Matěj (1803-1881). Czech composer and teacher. Provincial musical education and background, he worked as a teacher in provincial Czech towns and was active in composing both church music and dance music. Particularly successful in the latter, a large number of his works were published and became well-known throughout contemporary Europe.
