Giuseppe Tartini

Tartini, Giuseppe (1692-1770). Italian violinist and composer. Venetian composer, violinist and theoretician. In 1721 Kapellmeister at Il Santo in Padua. Five years later he established a private and very successful violin school. His extant compositions almost exclusively comprise works for his own instrument.
