Mašek, Arnošt [Ernst], teacher of violin at the Prague Organ School. Active in Prague during the late 1840s and into the 1850s. Lumír 4/1/1854 reported that ‘Young violinist Arnošt Mašek from Prague gave a concert in Heilbron with good success... His mother, how accompanies him on this trip, sang some songs. From Heilbron Mr Mašek takes himself to Stuttgart.’ He evidently settled in Heilbronn, Tagesbote aus Böhmen 16/7/1857 reporting that: ‘Our gloriously celebrated compatriot, Mr A. Maschek, music director in Heilbronn, following his performance of the oratorio Elias received a precious silver laurel wreath from the Heilbronn ladies.’
