Anderle, Alois Vincenc (1821-1864). Czech tenor. Choirboy in Brno, later studied in Jemnice and then in Vienna where he worked initially as a magistrate’s clerk. Established himself during the 1840s as an opera singer, by the middle of the decade appearing in major rôles in the court opera. He maintained his links with his Czech homeland, cultivating native music as well as appearing in Prague in concerts and on the Estates Theatre stage. He was usually named as Alois Ander.
