Theodor Pixis
Pixis, Theodor (1831-1856). Czech violinist. Son and pupil of violin virtuoso and teacher Bedřich Vilém Pixis. Studied at the Prague Conservatory (1843-1846). Brief international career, returning to Prague occasionally to give concert performances. Bohemia 21-6-1850 reported ‘Our countryman, the well-known violin virtuoso Theodor Pixis, who has performed with great success in Paris and Berlin, and only a short trip in the Spas for his homeland, and now pzs a brief visit to the Spas of his homeland, will soon arrive in Teplitz [Teplice]’.
