• Žofín Academy: participating institution, vv

Bohemia 26/1/1851 published a report relating that tomorrow on 27th January would be in St James’s church at 11am a sung mass given by the Žofín Academy to mark the birthday of their patron, the Archduchess Sophie. Prager Zeitung 26/1/1851 reported similar details, adding that the event was being given by pupils and that members of the Žofín Academy were invited to attend. Whether this meant that the occasion was exclusive to the institute and therefore closed to the public is not apparent from these source. Details of this event, the venue, date and time, appeared in the Tagesanzeiger text of Bohemia 26/1/1851.

A brief and unsigned review was published by Prager Zeitung 28/1/1851 noting the composer of the mass and that the ‘impeccable performance’ inspired all the liseners with both ‘devotion and joy.’
