• Deutsche Casino: organizing institution

News that the German Casino [Deutsche Casino] was about to commence a new series of entertainments appeared in a notice published by Prager Morgenpost 15/11/1863. This noted: ‘From the German Casino. The Garlands in the German Casino, to which members’s wives also have admission, begin during the next few days. The first of these soirées [Abendunterhaltungen]... takes place on 19th November (Thursday).’ The ‘Garlands’ in question turned out to be dance entertainments. The Tagesanzeiger daily almamac of Prague social and musical events published by Prager Morgenpost 19/11/1863 announced: ‘First Dance-Garland [Tanzkränzchen] in the German Casino.’
