An advertisement for this event was published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 25/11/1854. The source announced: ‘Konvikt Hall. Tomorrow Sunday, festively illuminated, a Ball in honour of the Catherine Festival [ein Ball zu Ehren des Katharinafestes], at which a select orchestra will perform the newest and most favourite dance pieces, to exhilirate as much as possible lovers of dance as well as lovers of music. For good drink of all types, well-prepared food, as well as for good service, the restaurant will take the greatest possible care. Advance admission tickets for gentlemen for 20kr, ladies admission tickets 10kr available daily from the restaurant in the Konvikt buildings, and gentlemen’s tickets for 24kr, ladies tickets for 12kr may be obtained on the evening from the box office. Commencing 7pm. Ending the following morning.’ St Catherine’s Day was 25th November.
