Person details

Paulina Lucca

Luccová

Lucca, Paulina (1841-1908). Austrian soprano, appeared in Olomouc in 1859 before moving to Prague and being petitioned by Thomé to join the company of the Estates Theatre. Although Dalibor 20/4/1860 reported that she had been engaged for 1 year, on 1/6/1860 the periodical reported that she had been engaged by the court theatre in Berlin for the following year for a much higher payment. In November Dalibor announced Lucca’s appearance in the German city, and that after Christmas she would be performing there in the opera Dinorah. Prager Morgenpost 30/10/1863 reported that ‘Miss Pauline Lucca has been engaged permanently at the Berlin Courth Theatre with the title of a Royal Chamber-singer [königlichen Kammersängerin].’
