Jindřich Pech

Pech, Jindřich (1837-1905). Czech pianist, composer, teacher of song and music critic. Brother of writer Eliška Krásnohorská. Pupil of J.L. Zvonař. Taught piano in the music institute of C. Müller and later of Smetana (1864). Later opened his own institute in Plzeň (1867-1871) and then returned to Prague and opened his own singing school. Active as a music critic for Hudební listy and also the newspaper Pokrok. Composed didactic works as well as a body of Czech songs and choruses.
