Johann Hrimali
Hřímalý, Jan (1844-1915). Violinist. Pupil of Mildner at the Prague Conservatory (1855-1861). Left Prague on 28 August 1861 to become violinist in Škroup’s opera orchestra in Rotterdam. In April 1862 became leader of that orchestra but a month later was appointed principal violinist of Amsterdam orchestra, where he remained until 1868. A year later he moved to Moscow, where he was employed for the remainder of his life. However, he made frequent visits back to Bohemia; through the string quartet he founded with his brother played an important rôle in furthering interest in chamber music productions in Prague concert life.
