Hynek Palla

Palla, Hynek (1837-1896). Czech composer and musical organizer. Studied composition in Prague at the Organists’ School and privately. In the early 1860s moved to Plzeň where he worked tirelessly to develop the local musical environment. His compositional endeavours were primarily focussed upon Czech secular vocal music, although he also wrote several orchestral works and made abortive attempts at an opera.
