An advertisement was published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 28/12/1854 announcing: ‘Monday 1st January will be in the Hall of the Žofín Island the Musical Trial to the Children- and Society-Ball [Kinder- und Gesellschaftsballe] taking place on 24th January. Pohl.’ No further details were given by the source. The advertisement was repeated in Mercy’s Anzeiger on successive days up to and including 31/12/1854.

Mercy’s Anzeiger 30/12/1854 published news relating: ‘Monday on New Year’s Day finds in the Hall of the Žofín Island the musical trial to the Ball arranged for the 24th January by the dance master Mr Pohl.’
