A notice was publised by Mercy‘s Anzeiger 20/12/1854 announcing ‘Tuesday 26th December takes place on the Žofín Island the musical rehearsal to the Society and Children’s Ball of dance teacher Mr M. Ružička arranged for 5th Feb. 1855, in which will be heard the ensemble of the 24th Rifles Battalion with a full contingent of strings.’ On the day of the event Mercy‘s Anzeiger 26/12/1854 published news that ‘Today Tuesday (26th Dec.) will take place in the Hall of Žofín Island the musical trial to the Ball of Mr Ružička being given on 5th February, in which several new dance compositions will be performed.’
