Commentary:

An advertisement was published by Mercy’s Anzeiger 28/10/1854 announcing: ‘Sunday 29th October, as well as following Sundays and Festival Days the Musical ensemble of the Royal 24th Field Rifle Battalion will perform several felicitous music pieces in the Hall of the Restaurant-building in the Royal Bohemian Estates Arboretum. Commencing at 3pm.’ No further details were given by the source. In the evening of the same day, 29/10/1854, this ensemble also performed in a parade on Hradčany celebrating the arrival in Prague of the Emperor Ferdinand and the Empress Maria Anna. This advertisement was repeated in the following day’s issue of Mercy’s Anzeiger.

The Vergnügungsanzeiger of Mercy’s Anzeiger 29/10/1854 reported ‘Today Sunday: In the Royal Estates Arboretum-Hall Music of the Royal Infantry Regiment Archduke Albrecht’. No further details were given by this source. Either the Vergnügungsanzeiger or the advertisement published inaccurate information as to the participating ensemble on this occasion.
