Commentary:

Národní listz 29/4/1862 related that this event was to take place in the Holy Trinity Church on 6/5/1862 at 10am. Dalibor 1/5/1862 also published advance information about the performance, noting that because the foremost singers and instrumentalists had been invited to participate in this production, ‘it is to be hoped that the performance under the guidance of the well-known director [J.J.] Foerster will be excellent, and for this reason we recommend this memorial service to friends of the deceased.’ The ‘young and talented’ Foerster had recently gained the directorship of the choir at the church of Sv Trojice [Holy Trinity], making him the youngest church choir director in Prague at this time.

This event did not take place on the date given by the above Dalibor source but was evidently postponed. Prager Morgenpost 7/5/1862 published news that the ‘The Requiem for Robert Führer, that was to be given on 6th May in the Holz Trinity Church, was rescheduled for 9th May.’
