Commentary:
The Tageskalender published by Bohemia 14/11/1858 noted the date, venue, participants and described the event simply as a dance entertainment. The Prager Morgenpost advertisement was certainly referring to the same event, reporting in addition the time of the event, the participation of the conjurer Jedlíčka, and noting the event as an ‘Official Festival’ Ball to honour the Festival of the Unveiling of the Radetzky Monument. This connection with the unveiling no doubt helped to stimulate and attract public attention to the Konvikt production.
