Commentary:

The Národní listy 3/6/1861 announcement of this new series of entertainments, to take place on 5th, 12th, 19th, 26th June, noted that they were to include ‘declamations, singing, playing and dancing.’ The first event in the series was postponed until 12th June.

No further details of the third beseda were noted by the Národní listy 19/6/1861 report. Čas 26/6/1861 published news of the date, venue and programme of this event. Following the song by Bergmann Mr Přerhof gave a humorous reading entilited ‘Modní trojlístek [A fashionable trio/clover leaf]’ and following the song performed by Rafael a declamation by Václav Crha entitled ‘Pohádka o zakletém princi [Fairy tale about the elfen prince].’ The reading and declamation was noted to be published in the periodical Besedník.
