Commentary:

At 6pm. An announcement published by Národní listy 3/3/1861 stated that all singers who wished to participate in this beseda were to attend rehearsals on 5/3 and 8/3/1861 at 7pm in the Konvikt Hall. Národní listy 9/3/1861 included an advertisement for this beseda, which noted that half of the profits from the occasion would be given to the Václav Hanka memorial fund. The participants also included the orchestra of the 18th Regiment of Dragoons, and the actor Heřmann Přerhof. Admission to the occasion would cost 20kr.

Prager Morgenpost 9/3/1861 reported that on Sunday 10th March in the Konvikt Hall there would take place a ‘musical-declamatory Beseda [musikalisch-deklamatorische Beseda], which promises to have a very numerous attendance. Half of the profit will be donated to the ‘Hanka-fund [Hanka-Stiftung - fund for the erection of a memorial to Hank]’. Besides the string orchestra of the Royal 18th Rifles Battalion, out of support for the cause there will participate too a male-voice choir and [the actor] Mr Přerhof.’ The following day, on 10th March, the newspaper contained a large advertisement for the event:
