The Vergnügungsanzeiger of Mercy’s Anzeiger 21/1/1857 announced ‘Today Wednesday... New Town Coffee-salon: Sharpshooters-music [ensemble of the Civil Sharpshooters Corps].’ No further details were given by the source which also contained an advertisement that at this venue ‘today Komsak’s Salon-Orchestra.’ Possibly, two ensembles performed at the venue on different times on this day, or one of the sources was erroneous. Another possibility is that the Vergnügungsanzeiger entry and the advertisement were actually referring to the same event, Komzák at this time being involved with the Sharpshooter’s ensemble as its director.
