The Vergnügungsanzeiger of Mercy’s Anzeiger 11/1/1857 announced ‘Today Sunday... Konvikt Hall: Ball.’ The same issue of the newspaper published an advertisement announcing that in the ‘festively lit’ Konvikt Hall there would take place ‘today... a brilliant Ball. The orchestra engaged is the ensemble of the Civil Grenadiers Corps, under the personal leadership of the Kapellmeister Mr F. Chrs. From the Restaurant will be available particularly well-prepared food and also drink of the best quality. Begins at 6 o’clock. Ends the next morning.’ Admission tickets for the ball purchased in advance from the Restaurant cost 30kr for gentlemen with lady partners, for gentlemen without partners 20kr. Admission purchased at the box office [i.e. at the time of the event] cost 36kr and 24kr respectively.’
