Commentary:

Advance news of this event was published by Lumír 11/12/1851. The report related that the guitarist Mr Josef Soukup had announced a great concert in the Žofín Hall for 16th December in which Mrs Kolarová, Miss Anna Molingrova and Messrs Peták, Novák, Knahl and Černý will be participating, The orchestra would be directed by ‘kapelní mistr [Kapellmeister] Schäde.’ No further details of the event were published. Schäde’s orchestra would probably have been the Civilian musical ensemble of Schäde and Heydinger [Prague Civil Band - Prager Civilkapelle], which performed frequently in public musical entertainments during these years. The ensemble was noted by contemporary Tagesanzeiger texts published in the newspaper Bohemia as performing in the Konvikt Hall on 16/12/1851. Whether the orchestra appeared in two events on that date or the Žofín Hall concert did not take place cannot be ascertained from periodical sources.
