Commentary:

The Prager Morgenpost 1/1/1860 advertisement included no further details of the musical content of the occasion, except that the ensemble would perform ‘einen Strauss der dustendsten Blumen aus Euterpens Garten [A bouquet of flowers from Euterpe’s garden]. This may have constituted a pun on the programme, certainly comprising dance compositions, including works by Strauss.
