The Prager Morgenpost 1/1/1860 advertisement simply stated ‘Gasthof Platteis am Neujahrstage 1860 Violin-Concert der Babette Hollas. Anfang 7 Uhr.’ No further details of this event can be traced in contemporary periodical sources. The young female violinist Hollas [Holasová] appeared frequently in inn and restaurant venues during the late 1850s and into the 1860s, and gradually established a reputation as an effective and accomplished violinist. Dalibor 10/4/1862 published news of her having successfully given a concert in Würzburg.
