Commentary:

Neither Dalibor report specified which items of the programme were given on which of the two days of the examinations. The review, signed ‘J.’, that was published by Dalibor 10/8/1859 briefly commented upon the overall quality of the examination performances, but supplied only one additional detail concerning the actual content of the programmes, namely to mention an acclaimed performance of an unspecified Czech national song by Miss G. Hofrichterová. The Dalibor critic enthused about the overall standard of performances, but wished that the pupils had had more rehearsal with the [unspecified] orchestra. In addition to the participating pupils named by the earlier Dalibor 20/7/1859 announcement and reproduced in this event record, the later Dalibor review also listed Miss Lenková as performing in these examinations.
