News of this event was published by Tagesbote aus Böhmen 4/8/1857, which reported that on ‘Sunday 9th August at 12 noon in the Garden of Žofín Island, the Society for Education in Military Music arranges its statutory yearly concert, in which will be participating 3 military music ensembles of the worthy Royal Infantry Regiments of Archduke Ernest, Baron von Allemann and Baron von Wernhardt, comprising 150 men combined into one body. At the same time, the esteemed Director of the Society, Mr J. Pawlis [Pavlis] will perform several concertos with his pupils, performances on the euphonium, flügelhorn and trumpet.’ No further details were given by the source.
