Commentary:

The Prague German-language newspaper Tagesbote aus Böhmen 13/7/1857 reported that ‘The local Society of Musical Artists [Tonkunstler-Societät] is arranging on Friday, July 17, 1857 at 10am in the Church of the Knights of the Cross, its customary Kreuzherrenkirche annual requiem Mass for its late protectors, patrons, Honorary and ordinary members. Performed will be: Requiem by Joh. N. Skraup [Škroup] and after that: Quartet with chorus by L. Spohr.’ This same report was published again in the next issue of this newspaper on 14/7/1857.
