Národní listy 3/4/1863 published a brief review of this event, noting: ‘Artistic Society [Umělecká beseda] held on Wednesday 1st April a first evening entertainment in its new locale on Střelecký ostrov. The gathering was numerous and very well entertained, to which contributed choruses, declamations and solo songs and piano playing. As we heard, there were many members of the Society attending, and we hope that their numbers will be still greater.’ No further details of the event were given by this source.
