An advertisement for this multifarious event was published by Prager Morgenpost 2/8/1863. The source announced: ‘Insel Gross-Venedig (formerly Hetz-Insel). Today Star-Festival [Stern-Fest] as Meeting Place of the Joyful World [Sammelplatz der lebensfroh en Welt], with entertainments in all rooms, Exhibitions and Frolics [Schaugegenstände und Jux] in all Nooks and Crannys, Spectacle upon Spectacle, the climbing of the tree adorned with premiums [‘Besteigen des mit Prämien ausgeschmückten Kletterbaumes’ – the translation of this fanciful imagery-laden sentence is problematic] at which will participate the 2 orchestras of the Regimental Ensemble of the worthy Royal Infantry Regiment Count Gyulai under the personal direction of the Kapellmeister Mr Strebinger. In both Halls Dance-Reunion [Tanz-Reunion]. Commencing 4 o’clock.’
