Commentary:

News of the venue and participating ensemble for this event was noted by the Tageskalender of Bohemia 31/12/1858. The newspaper also contained an advertisement posted by the owner of the venue, Franz Unger [František Unger] announcing that ‘Today for the St Sylvester Festival in Unger’s Café-salon (Kavarna) [is] Turek’s favourite Sextet.’ The advertisement also stated that the best tea and coffee was available.
