News of this event was related in a report published by Prager Morgenpost 31/5/1863: ‘Festival: Toady takes place on the Rohan Island for the Celebration of the Battle at Aspern a Victory Festival, in which the Regimental Ensemble of the Royal Infantry Regiment Archduke Sigismund will participate. At the close of the Festival will be a military tattoo with fireworks [Zapfenstreich mit Feuerwek].’ An advertisement for the event was also published by Prager Morgenpost 31/5/1863, announcing:

The Battle of Aspern-Essling took place on 21st to the 22nd May 1809 when the French army of Napoleon were driven back from a crossing of the Danube by the Austrians under the Archduke Charles.
