News of this event was published by Prager Morgenpost 3/3/1863. The source reported: ‘Requiem. Thursday 5th March at 10 o’clock in the morning in the St Rafael church [chapel] of the Institute for the Care and Employment of the Adult Blind will be held a solemn funeral service [Trauergottesdienst] for Mr Anton Nowotný [Novotný] deceased on 25th February of this year, bearing evidence of the Institute’s grateful recognition of the support he granted to it. A vocal Requiem will be sung by the blind pupils of the Institute.’ No further details of the event were given by the source.

A similar report was published on the same day by Národní listy 3/3/1863: ‘Requiem. On Thursday 5th March at 10am will be given
in the church [chapel] of St Rafael by the Institute for the Care and Employment of Adult Blind a solemn religious service for Mr Ant. Novotný, who died on 25th February. Blind pupils will sing a vocal Requiem.’
