Národní listy 19/1/1863 reported that ‘Social dance ball to benefit the Private Institute for the Education and Well-being of Poor Blind Children will take place on 2nd February in Žofín Hall. It may be expected that in view of the good cause the attendance will be substantial.’

Prager Morgenpost 1/1/1863 published news of this event, reporting that on 2nd February a Ball would be given in the Žofín Island Hall for the benefit of the Private Institute for the Education and Well-being of Poor Blind Children. The source noted that no less than 1213 blind individuals had passed through this Institute. No further details of the event were given.
