Josef Vašák
Vašák, Josef (1808-1875). Composer, teacher and choral conductor. Studied music in Prague with Vitásek. Moved in 1833 to the Ukraine, serving as a teacher-musician in aristocratic circles. Travelled in Poland and Russia, and towards the end of his life settled in Krakow. Composed a number of Czech songs and choruses, some of which were published in the serial publication Věnec.
