Marie Mösner
Mösnerová
Mösner, Marie. Austrian harpist. Studied harmony and theory in Prague with J.L. Zvonař during the 1850s, occasionally appearing in Prague concerts. Brief biographical details of the harpist were published by Prager Morgenpost 1/1/1861. This source related that she was the sister of the late Vienna court violinist Mösner, children of an able [tüchtig] music director in Salzburg. Her first education in harp playing was obtained in Vienna from Zamarra; her natural talent was so pronounced that even as a child she gave concerts. She then gained a place at the Paris Conservatoire, studying under Godefroid and gaining first prize for harp playing. Following her Paris success she embarked upon Europe-wide concert tours, visiting and performing in the capitals of Belgium, Germany, Austria, Poland, England, Holand etc., and was lauded by the most competent critics in Berlin, Munich, Dresden, Brussels, London etc. This source then quoted from an enthusiastic critic from the English newspaper the Times.
