František Němec

Němec, František (1825-?). Czech violinist and composer. Studied at the Prague Conservatory (1840-1846) after which he played in the German Estates Theatre orchestra and participated in the annual series of public chamber music soirées. Emigrated to Russia c.1851 but maintained contact with his native land. Compositions included an early violin concerto, written while still in Prague.
