Medalová, Mina. Czech contralto singer, originally from Benešov. Studied singing in the Prague Conservatory 1853-1857. Lumír 5/3/1863 reported that she was the principal singer in Frankfurt on Maine but due to reasons of a chest complaint [prsní choroba – possibly breast cancer], she would be returning to her family for a long period in Benešov. An identical report appeared in Dalibor 10/3/1863. Národní listy 3/4/1863 reported that Medalová hoped following her recovery to appear a few times in the local Czech Theatre. The source also noted that she had become a great favourite with the Frankfurt public and that she was now engaged as primadonna at the theatre in Darmstadt,
