Tagesbote aus Böhmen 26/5/1857 reported that ‘Yesterday afternoon their Majesties the Queen Mother Karolina Augusta and the Emperor Ferdinand, as well as His Royal Highness the Serene Archduke Franz Karl were in attendance for a Festival Commemoration of the Battle of Aspern, taking place in the former Count Canal’s Garden and thereafter on the Žofín Island. Upon... [their] arrival the [unspecified] musical ensembles played the Austrian anthem.’ No further details were given by this source. This issue of the newspaper also recorded that Franz Karl left Prague for Dresden on the morning of 25/5/1857.
