News that an evening musical entertainment was being arranged by the singing society Flöte was published by Prager Morgenpost 24/12/1863.The newspaper’s report noted: ‘Evening entertainment. The German singing society „Flöte“ arranges on 29th December an evening entertainment, for which the following programme is stipulated: „Allem Deutschen“ chorus by Schmölzer, „Wie schön bist Du“ tenor solo by Weidt, „Nachklang und Sehnsucht“ double quartet, „Rheinweinlied“ chorus by Neumann, „Von Dir“ duet by Gumpert [Gumbert], „Der rechte Arzt“ chorus by Herner, „Waldlied“ chorus by Tauwitz, „Clavierpiece“ chorus by Tauwitz, „In diesen heil’gen Hallen“ aria for bass by Mozart, „Der frohe Wandersmann“ chorus by Mendelssohn, „Märchen“ poem by Uhland, „Lied der Liederlichen“ chorus by Abt.’

The
Clavierpiece“ ‘chorus by Tauwitz’ may have been mistakenly described by the Prager Morgenpost source. No vocal work with this title is identifiable in the output of this composer.
