Kommentar:

Prager Morgenpost 26/2/1863 published a review, signed ‘–§–, of this event, reporting: ‘The Constitution Festival, which members of the local three German Singing Societies „Aëde“, „Arion“ and „Flöte“ arranged yesterday evening in the Žofín Island Hall was a splendid success [fiel recht glänzend aus]. To this Festival there gathered a public that was as refined as it was numerous, the festive atmosphere impaired with no discord [die festliche Stimmung wurde durch keinen Mißton gestört – perhaps a pun on this being a choral event]. The Festival was opened with a festival reading by the provisional President of  „Aëde“, Dr Kisch, which ended with a „Hail“ to His Majesty the Emperor to which the entire assembly responded in stormy cheering. Thereupon the Society choirs sang the National Anthem [Volkshymne], upon which all those present rose from their seats. In further content the Festival comprised performances of choruses of patriotic content [Vortrag von Chören patriotischen Inhaltes] alternating with solo pieces. The very animated gathering dispersed around midnight. Further details of the Festival we will report tomorrow.’
