The Vergnügungsanzeiger of Mercy’s Anzeiger 23/1/1857 announced ‘Today Friday... New Town Coffee-salon: Komsak’s [Komzák] Orchestra.’ An advertisement was published in the same issue of this newspaper relating:
‘New Town Coffee-salon
Salon orchestra of the reorganized Royal Warranted Sharpshooters musical ensemble [k.k. priv. Scharfschützenmusik], under the personal direction of the first Kapellmeister
Mr
Karl Komsak.’

No further details were given by these sources. The Vergnügungsanzeiger specification of ‘Komsak’s [Komzák] Orchestra’ illustrates the difficulty of identifying which ensembles of Komzák participated in local events at this period.
