An advertisement was published in Mercy’s Anzeiger 3/1/1857 announcing that on ‘Sunday 4th January in the Apollo Hall will take place the musical trial for the Kränzchen-Ball. Compositions will be played by the ensemble of the esteemed Infantry Regiment Archduke Ernst under the leadership of Kapellmeister J. Buřínsky. After the trial is a great Soirée including Cloud pictures [Nebelbilder].’ Admission to the event opened at 4.30pm and cost 10kr. No further details were given by the source. Exactly what constituted ‘Nebelbilder’ cannot be ascertained. The advertisement was repeated on 4/1/1857. The Kränzchen-Ball took place on 3/2/1857.
