Der Tagesbote 21/2/1854 reported that ‘The great Festival Ball that is arranged on Wednesday 22nd in the Konvikt Hall under the title “Prager Carnevals-Jur” signals the end of the Carnival.’ A numerous attendance was anticipated. The decorations for the hall were organized by a Mr Bendl.
Mercy’s Anzeiger 21/2/1854 published an advertisement announcing:
Wednesday 22nd February 1854
takes place in the
entirely newly decorated Konvikt Hall
a
great Festival Ball,
under the title:
Prague Carnival-Year [Prager Carnevals-Jur]’
The advertisement also noted that the participating orchestra would be the ensemble of the Sharpshooters [Regiment] under the leadership of Kapellmeister Peter Pergler. Advance tickets could be bought for 30kr in the Konvikt Hall and in the evenings from the box office for 40kr. The event was due to end in the early morning [Ende gegen Morgen]. The advertisement was published again by the newspaper on 22/2/1854.
