Commentary:

Four weekly dance-reunions were organized by the popular Prague dance master Friedrich Feigert between 8/2/1859 and 1/3/1859, according to the Prager Morgenpost 22/1/1859 advertisement repeated on 27/1/1859. This text announced that tickets could be obtained from the rooms of Feigert at Rittergasse Nr.408-I daily between 10am and 5pm, and also noted that dance lessons were given each Saturday and Sunday in Feigert’s salon for the latest dance pieces.

Advertisements for the first of these Carnival dance entertainments were published in Morgenpost 2/2/1859 and 6/2/1859. No further details of the event were listed but the advertisements were humorously and eye-catchingly decorated with repeated ‘R’s and the event cryptically titled ‘Another picture [Ein anderes Bild]. Admission cost 70kr at the door, or 50kr for tickets purchased in advance. Dance rehearsals were also advertised as being given by Feigert each Saturday and Sunday at 6pm.
