Commentary:

News of this event was published by Bohemia 2/5/1857 in a report noting: ‘On the Festival of the Cross [‘Kreuzerfindung’ – Inventio sanctae crucis], which will be celebrated on Sunday 3rd May in the Church of the Knights of the Cross at 9am, is to be performed Führer’s great Mass in D minor; as interpolations for the graduale a Hymnus in G major and as offertorium the great Motet in D major by Krejčí dedicated to the great Mendelssohn Bartholdy.’

Directing this event would almost certainly have been Josef Krejčí, at this time Kapellmeister at the Knights of the Cross Church (St Francis).
