Commentary:

News of this event was published by Dalibor 10/6/1862 reporting its date at Pentecost, its time and venue, and an outline of the works to be performed. Although the participants were not specified they almost certainly comprised musicians of the St Francis church directed by their Kapellmeister Krejčí.

Bohemia 7/6/1862 reported that ‘Tomorrow and the day after will be performed in the Holy Church of the Knights of the Cross, both at 9am, the great Mass in E-flat major of C.L. Drobisch, then the Mass in D major, the work of a graduating pupil of the local Organ School, Joh. Karas. The interpolations will be, on Whit Sunday: Veni sancte by Abbé Vogler and Offertorium by J. Krejčí; on Monday: Veni sancte in D major and Offertorium in A major, both by J. Krejčí.’ No further details were given by the periodical report.
